With the snow and cold weather outside we decided to cheer you up by looking forward to Spring/Summer 13. Bold floral patterns and pastel shades was a favourite trend with many designers, and it looks like it will be sticking around to be a favourite in the shops and on the streets.
3D flowers, stand out floral patterns and an array of sorbet colours including lemon, spearmint and fondant pinks all adorned the catwalk, and here is KD HQ’s top picks…
Be bold and go head to toe in floral pattern, or if you prefer a more decadent look choose key pieces in on trend colours.
But why wait till spring, try out this trend now and take inspiration from celebrities such as Sienna Miller and Eva Longoria…

I asked Sean to write a piece for the blog about trends in wedding for 2012.
Wedding dresses. The most important outfit of a woman’s life, whether she admit it or not, this is the dress she will spend the most time, effort and money on, and it is the dress they will always feel the most unique and special in. Last year was an important year in the wedding calendar holding two royal weddings, the first the wedding of Catherine Middleton and Prince William in which she wore a Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen lace appliqué creation, and the second, Hollywood royalty in the form of Kim Kardashian’s wedding to Kris Humphries, in which she wore three show stopping Vera Wang, old Hollywood style gowns. These inspirational gowns have inspired a worldwide sensation for weddings, for designers and brides.
When researching for the bridal trends of 2012, the first thing that crossed my mind was lace, described by the Italians as ‘stitches in the air’ in the past year the traditional detailed material has went from being used as a doily to one of the most glamorous elaborate materials. The recent trend was started with Catherine Middleton’s legendary McQueen gown, its lace chest and sleeves mesmerised the world in its intricate detail and made Catherine herself look very much a princess. Since then the seemingly dated material has made a storming come back with every major wedding designer dabbling in the trend. It has appeared on huge runways such as Marchesa and Oscar De La Renta to traditional wedding designers like Vera Wang to smaller more unknown designers like Tara Keely. I believe it provides a gown with a touch of traditional vintage elegance and can transform an everyday woman into a stunning bride, leading me to say when looking for a modern day dress for a 2012 wedding look no further than lace, whether it be only a small section of the gown or the entire gown itself, it is the hottest bridal trend of the moment.
Many brides will opt for the traditional old style church wedding for their big day but if you are looking outside of the tradition and want something new and modern, one of the newest modern locations for a wedding is the Tower Bridge in London. Recently the Tower Bridge has become very popular with weddings as its reception is held in one of the high level walkways which are located 140 feet above The River Thames. Thus providing breathtaking views and culture rich setting which is the perfect location for the modern couple, seeing as London is now one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, look no further for the thriving nightlife for after party festivities at the trendy cocktail bar ‘The Loft’, and pre wedding shopping for both the bride and groom on the world famous ‘Oxford Street’

I absolutely love use of colour and texture in this show – it’s now what you would imagine for an A/W collection but I adore it anyway.
The seasons are so quick and just as I am uploading more SS12 onto http://www.kirsty-doyle.com the fashion weeks are happening all over the world and excitement starts for the next collections, the next hottest trends. I love to look ahead but I also like to enjoy the present fashion moment.
