It’s very nearly the weekend..
My top three for this weekend’s favourite pieces from the collection would be the luxe pvc/jersey combo Yasmin Skirt this skirt should be on everyone’s must-have list. Wear it layered up or with a scuba jersey bustier for a more evening look. In the first picture I am wearing the Makenzie coat with it and my cherry red Louboutins. One tip when wearing the Makenzie or Tiffany Coat is to tie the belt super tight to pull in the waist, this also makes the ruffle puff out more on the hem. In the final picture I am wearing the Marthe Skirt with oops… did I say 3 top picks? Can I squeeze in the Shira Sleeveless Jacket too? It’s my blog and I think I need the Shira in my top picks for this weekend. The wind caught the silk in the picture and it shows off Jessica’s print to perfection! The Shira is a perfect go-to piece, when the season isn’t quite sure whether it wants to be Autumn OR Winter this piece can be worn over a dress or with boyfriend jeans and a leather jacket, Layer-up-Luxury!
The lipstick is from topshop and I have gone for that windswept hair look – deliberately of course.
I spent my weekend in Amsterdam staying with friends. I have been before but it is always different when you stay with people who live where you are visiting. You are less like a tourist and more like a resident. On Saturday we all ventured off to a field in the middle of nowhere to go to Welcome to the Future. This festival was tiny compared to the giant that is Glastonbury, but it was full of tanned gorgeous Dutch people, all super friendly.
On the last day we spent it wandering the cosmopolitan streets of Amsterdam looking at the flower stalls and canals. I love the fact that we had a completely different experience this time, the bars were so much better when we had someone leading the way. We stayed outside of the centre in a small village in a beautiful Grand Designs-esque house which was the perfect tranquil escape after a day at a festival.
I must admit though, I have two of Jessica Doyle’s printed silk kimono’s that are perfect for city breaks/festivals/cover-ups these were the perfect wardrobe staple for a warm weekend away. It is always difficult trying to predict what people are going to wear when you go to a new city, styles and trends constantly evolve. These silk pieces are an easy accessory to a black body con dress and my nike pumps for day time exploring.
What did you get up to last weekend?
When we posted this photo over on our Facebook page, all our lovely customers loved it. So we are delighted to tell you that our Jessica Doyle x Kirsty Doyle silk kimono will be available come Saturday for just £295.
This silk kimono is perfect for Summer. A wardrobe staple that can be worn from day to night. Wear it to cover up on the beach and then style it out as a jacket with chunky jewellery and heels in the evening.
Jessica Doyle’s custom made silk print for KD is too stunning not to feature on the blog. This kaftan is for one of our lovely customers who is jetting off to Ibiza tomorrow *not jealous honestly*.
Jessica’s prints have been extremely popular this past season and we are waiting with baited breath to see what she has in store for us this a/w.
Pre-order the Anaste print Dolly Dress. This is our unique print designed by Jessica Doyle for the brand, it has been a fashion favourite for SS12 and will see you through to the Autumn if paired with a cropped jacket. The shoes are new season ZARA – just purchased. How perfect!
I thought this a fitting item to follow on from the Jeremy Scott backstage shot full of colour.
After we did a poll on the site about which style of Citrine Skirt you preferred we got a unanimous reaction on the short twisted version. We have now put it into production and this is the final look. We have teamed it with a cropped marl grey jersey t-shirt and nude shoes.
Do you love?
