KD Beauty Talk.

We love a natural dewy glow for our summer look, as you can see from our model Jodie the emphasis is always on the skin. This weekend we discovered Giorgio Armani’s Fluid Sheer make-up. I would describe it as a light product which can be used on your cheek bones and eye lids,  the Armani make-up artist suggested decolletage and legs for a chic beach look.

I used the fluid sheer under and on top of the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. Wanting to achieve a natural look, I applied the foundation in a thin layer and topped up the shine on my cheekbones with the fluid sheer. Finish with a pink/peach blush this is definitely a must-have in our KD beauty bag.

Have a fabulous Monday!

How to wear the Nora Dress.

The Nora Dress

How to wear the http://www.kirsty-doyle.com/products/ready-to-wear/nora-dress

Today’s top SALE pick is the cherry red Nora Dress. The fitted backless bodice with soft circular ruffle and delicate straps is a perfect cocktail dress for a summer wedding. But fear not here’s our styling tips!

A sleek up-do will let the dress do the talking and allow you to wear some Elizabeth Taylor-esque jewels. We have chosen these Erickson Beamon earrings in cherry red with hints of fuschia, lemon and blue. Keep your make-up simple and focus on contouring the eyes and cheekbones.

We like the rest of the world love Nicholas Kirkwood’s heels, we decided that if you are to invest in a pair of SS13 heels to take you through to next season, these Nicholas Kirkwood for Pollini metallic wedges are just the pair! It would be silly to splurge on a sandal so these pointed full shoes are just the ticket!

KD on the Red Carpet: Shobna Gulati

Beauty, Fashion

Former Corrie actress walked down the red carpet on Saturday, looking amazing and showing of her gorgeous figure in a bespoke Kirsty Doyle Lemon LD bustier dress.

Shobna styled her KD creation with a sleek cream clutch, and a chunky braclet. She kept her make-up to a nude and brown colour palette, while letting her hair fall loosely on her shoulders.

The actress’s red carpet look received some lovely comments, including from stylist Grace Wooward who voted her best dress of the evening and we totally agree. She looked gorgeous.

KD on the red carpet: Anna Shaffer

Beauty, Fashion

Between all the preparations for the soap awards on Saturday, we were lucky enough to have a quick catch with the gorgeous Hollyoaks actress Anna Shaffer we chatted about style, beauty and getting ready for the awards.

Anna looked amazing in a bespoke nude Marianna dress. Styled with an amazing Charlotte Olympia clutch, gorgeous curled hair which was swept to the side and lashings of red lipstick. She showed us exactly how to style a Kirsty Doyle creation. The hint of leopard print from the clutch really finishes of the outfit.

How would you describe your personal style?

I think I have quite a simple but classic style. Lately i’ve been experimenting with more patterns and prints, especially as we move into summer.
It’s so important to have fun with fashion too, I think the older I get the less I care about what other people think and I’m much more willing to give new
things a try…even if they end up a bit of a disaster!

What are your style inspirations and influences?

I love Mad Men. If I could dress like Joan every day I absolutely would! I think the french dress fabulously too, they keep silhuettes sleek and simple and use accessories as a way of standing out. In terms of people, I take huge inspiration from Jessica Alba and Diane Kruger. They are always flawless and look effortless. Their style is timeless but they always have a modern twist which I think is really interesting. And it helps that they’re stunning too!

Do you have any red carpet beauty tips?

Give yourself time! There is nothing worse than feeling rushed before an event as you will make rash decisions about your make up that you will totally regret later. And looking flustered and clammy on the red carpet because you had to get ready in 5 minutes is never a good look! I think a strong lip is always fabulous. Red literally goes with ANYTHING and can transform an outfit. Also less is more. If you’re having a heavy Eye go easy on the lips and vice versa….oh and check your teeth for lipstick!!! That’s definitely something I’ve learnt!

Do you enjoy getting ready for award events?

I generally get a little stressed before events, so it’s so important to plan ahead. If I know my dress is wonderful and I know exactly how I want my make up and hair then the rest slots into place…and it’s always good to leave yourself a good hour before you need to be there so you can relax with a cheeky drink and remember to enjoy yourself!

Fashion, Studio Loves

Last weekend the KD Studio girls loved Benefit High Beam and this candy pink MAC lipstick for our cocktails on the town. Accessorise with these Mad Men-esque crystal and mint rose earrings and you are good to go!

We also tried out hair chalks by Hair Artist. Unfortunately we were not so impressed.. however if you have fair hair and want some wash in/wash out colour for a festival this summer these are perfect for you. Match your hair to your jewels and work this amazing H&M necklace into your look.

Each week we will be letting you into the products/accessories the KD Studio girls have been trying out.

Our top 3 beauty must-haves.

Beauty, Studio Loves

With a hint of snow beginning to fall, we are discussing our essential make-up bag must-haves!

I can’t live without Laura Mercier’s illuminating tinted moisturiser (this also has an SPF 20) the sheen is just enough to make your skin dewy not shiny. The YSL Touche Eclat, need I say more? And finally the YSL concealer, this is new to my beauty regime but this creamy concealer is a perfect cover up and the make-up artist matched it perfectly to my skin tone.

What are your three faves?

Beauty Shots – for KD Bridal editorial.

The make-up artist Hannah created a feminine look that was both contemporary in the eyes and English Rose in the cheeks. Using tonal pinks, blushes and peaches to create an editorial bridal look. Hannah used a curling wand to create tumbling retro style curls for the floral headpiece to sit.

The head piece was made by Kirsty using a selection of faux flowers.
