Diary of a dress – Rachel’s bespoke wedding gown.

Our first KD Bride on Saturday was Rachel. Her diary began many months ago when she had her first consultation with me telling me exactly what she wanted, Rachel didn’t want a “traditional wedding dress” like the ones in a shop. Rachel knew she wanted sleeves, a tailored style and a square neckline. After the initial consultation we go to work, 3 toile dress fittings later and we go into the real fabric.

We combined everything Rachel wanted and incorporated a textured satin panel in the side and delicate crystal detailing on the shoulders. (We wait with baited breath for the professional pictures to show off the detail in this gown, but in the meantime you will have to make do with my iPhone shots…)

Don’t know what to wear for a Christening? Is it… a boy?  …a girl? …unsure?  At Kirsty Doyle we have chosen 3 perfect dresses to help dress you for this occasion. For this look, Beth (one of our KD styled up girls) looked conservative but chic, girly but sophisticated and demure but playful. Shooting by the suitcase area on Hope Street, this was a perfect opportunity to capture the summer weather in the UK.

Blue Rica – This baby blue plunge neck dress is complementary for a summertime celebration. Team it with nude heels and a loose wave hair style to hide the plunge.

Pink Esme – Be pretty in pink in this lace paneled fitted dress. With a top knot bun it looks effortlessly chic and shows off the shoulder detailing.

Peach Penelope – Ruffle it up with this pencil dress. A lovely colour for a Christening if you do not wish to go for the obvious blue and pink. Cut below the knee, it balances the expose of the top half of the outfit and the top bun helps elongate your height.

When you are attending your next Christening, the KD team think it’s best to let the dress do the talking and keep everything else simplistic. Pastel tone are perfect for this occasion so check the KD store website to our summer collection. Comment and share your favorite dress you think would be suitable and remember balloons are not just for kids.

KD styled up for summer

Fashion, Studio Loves

Hair by Lindsey Henderson

Our previous KD street style girl Georgia has now shown us how to keep cool this summer and still look fabulous wearing the KD Moloka skirt teamed with the grey jersey t-shirt and also styling the white KD Trea dress. Georgia accessorises with Miu Miu sunglasses and duck egg blue Balenciaga bracelet, keeping it simple and chic for the hot weather. Hair stylist Lindsey Henderson creates that easy and edgy take on plaits with a side scooped fishtail; we love this look at the KD studio!

Michelle Owen’s Bespoke Bride album.

It is known as the wedding season, and here is another gorgeous bride walked down the aisle in a Kirsty Doyle Bespoke gown.

Michelle wore a beautiful full length gown. Hand embroidered Swarovski crystals adorned the bodice, while silk chiffon ruffles were hand sewn on to give the dress the ultimate couture style.

It was another weekend of glorious sunshine, and more importantly another weekend featuring a KD Bespoke bride.

Our gorgeous Bride got married at the amazing Liverpool Hope Street Hotel, in a KD bespoke lace fishtail dress. There is no denying she was a beautiful radiant bride.

She completed her wedding look with a simple but chic up-do, accessorised with a cute hairband and veil.
