Previewing our behind the scene shots on our Instagram, the anticipation is finally over. We are revealing the images of how our 5 KD styled up girls have interpreted their stylish personalities throughout the collection their own way.  During the week, they came into the studio and chose 2 products of their preference. With the help of the KD team, we captured their street style creations against the street art that surrounds our studio in the creative Baltic Triangle.

The KD team have been scouting around Liverpool today and found a handful of girls with stylish personalities. They have been personally asked by us to select a KD dress from the collection, interpret their own individual style and model it to showcase the diverse fashion that surrounds Liverpool. Before   Georgia – ‘Sheer Fabulous’  Location: Jamaica Street Following top style trends of spring and summer, sheer panels are not fading away anytime soon. A hint a sexiness is shown through the white sweater, whilst keeping it plain and simple, teaming it up with patterned slip-on shoes and accessories give it that pop of style and colour. SS Georgia   Satana – ‘Simplistically Cute’ Location: Church Street Suit and Tie?  No… it’s all about Bows and Nikes. This funky combination of smart meets sporty stood out to the team not just because of her bright pink shoes. Putting this together shows that ties are not only for special occasions and trainers are not only for exercising. Sporting for style! Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset   Claudia – ‘Trendy Trooper’ Location: Quiggins Settling into summer and the British weather, this outfit is the perfect combination. Shorts and sunglasses for the sunny days. Camo jacket and boots to prepare for the unpredictable rainy days. It’s a win-win situation! Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset   Beth – Blooming Effortless  Location: Bold Street Dressed head-to-toe in high street brands, Beth looks effortlessly cool in her knitted long sleeve top and floral trousers. Loose fit clothes. Birkenstock styled sandals. Fashion has never been so comfy and  relaxed. It’s all about mixing and matching not just colours or patterns, texture is the next big thing! Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset   Molly –  ‘Mega Magenta’  Location: Jamaica Street We are loving this magenta sweater as it complements her hair and skin tone! Mixing it with hound tooth pants and flat scandals, Molly holds the perfect formula of street style sophistication. SS Molly These are our 5 girls, watch this space to see how some will transform KD dresses in their own stylish way!

How do you choose YOUR favourite from the new collection?

This season we have gone for a varied colour palette and chosen to recreate some classic shapes as our KD girls just can’t get enough of the Amelie or Penelope, Sabrina or Fifi. When editing our collection ideas for Spring 2014 we briefly look at the trend forecasts for shape and colour, but we try to lead in our own direction. Keeping the shapes tailored and feminine so pieces can be worn season after season.

Soft ruffles and and structured bows feature and new for Spring is the tailored jumpsuit. The trouser length is key to these jumpsuits being chic yet oh-so wearable. Narrow with an ironed crease and and ankle skimming length offers the illusion of long and lean legs working surprisingly well with barely there sandals with an ankle strap.

So make haste and nip over to our newly updated site and tell us which KD Spring piece is on your wishlist!

If you remember reading Kirsten’s post I did when she got married to Michael you might remember the special detail that Kirsten used to live on the same street of me, we were childhood friends. My mum made and beaded her communion gown and then I asked my mum to bead the bust on her wedding gown.

Kirsten wanted to go 1920’s style, art deco in her wedding gown. We decided on a white silk crepe back satin fabric for the dress which had a 4m train and Swarovski and pearl beading to be done by hand under the bust and around to the back.  The drama of the dress was in the back, carefully draped Swarovski pearls made a stunning detail that lead the eye down to the scooped out back and the full train. Kirsten had a hidden loop to tie the train up when she took to the dancefloor with her little twins, Daisy and Tom.

The one part of the look that didn’t decide on was the veil, this is the exciting part of having a dress designed for you. Towards the end of the bespoke process you can see how the  dress takes shape and veils do depend on the shape, style and detail of the dress. We made a toile veil for Kirsten to try, a toile means a mock-up. We tried the veil long and then trimmed it until it finished at the bottom of the spine. This was the perfect length for the perfect dress.

I dressed Kirsten on the day of her wedding and my mum came along to assist me with steaming and pressing the gown. This was such a special moment for us to be part of, as it is for every day dressing the bride in her gown which has taken months in the planning. But both of knowing Kirsten since we were tiny had extra emotions attached.

It’s very nearly the weekend..

My top three for this weekend’s favourite pieces from the collection would be the luxe pvc/jersey combo Yasmin Skirt this skirt should be on everyone’s must-have list. Wear it layered up or with a scuba jersey bustier for a more evening look. In the first picture I am wearing the Makenzie coat with it and my cherry red Louboutins.   One tip when wearing the Makenzie or Tiffany Coat is to tie the belt super tight to pull in the waist, this also makes the ruffle puff out more on the hem. In the final picture I am wearing the Marthe Skirt with oops… did I say 3 top picks? Can I squeeze in the Shira Sleeveless Jacket too? It’s my blog and I think I need the Shira in my top picks for this weekend. The wind caught the silk in the picture and it shows off Jessica’s print to perfection! The Shira is a perfect go-to piece, when the season isn’t quite sure whether it wants to be Autumn OR Winter this piece can be worn over a dress or with boyfriend jeans and a leather jacket, Layer-up-Luxury!

The lipstick is from topshop and I have gone for  that windswept hair look – deliberately of course.

Bespoke Bridesmaid – The LD Dresses

KIRSTY DOYLE Bespoke Bridesmaids

The lovely bride Laura sent us a snapshot from her wedding day with her 5 friends dressed in the LD Bridesmaid dresses. The LD draped back, the LD bustier and the LD one shoulder dress in lemon have been a runaway success – they are a firm favourite for brides up and down the country. The tailored shape with fluted mermaid style skirt look is cut to flatter and elongate the body.

They come in a variety of colours but this delicious lemon sorbet shade shimmers in the sunshine.
