Start today right by looking at these picture perfect bridesmaids dressed in KD Bespoke gowns.

When you first meet a bride and her maids at the consultation it is important to get as much as you can from their initial ideas. Kavita (bride-to-be) wanted fuschia pink as her colour with crystal embellishments on the dresses. The wedding was to have a hint of Bollywood mixed with a dash of glamour, the main colour theme began with the maids and went through to the table settings and floral decorations.

Kavita was based down south and her maids were up in Liverpool so we did some of her fittings via Skype, so she could see exactly where she wanted the crystal detailing to be placed. A real  trend we have noticed in our bridesmaids is to have each skirt part the same and the bodice suited to the bridesmaid. An idea for each bride-to-be to consider is for everyone to feel fabulous but also comfortable (dare I say it), do this is by allowing everyone to choose their own bodice style.

We are loving the finishing touches to this set of bridesmaids, from the bindis to the delicate floral wrist decorations. You can never begin to imagine how each bridesmaid will look once the hair and make-up is perfected and the accessories on. After dressing each bridesmaid and helping them safely into the vintage cars we couldn’t have been happier with finished results!

Don’t know what to wear for a Christening? Is it… a boy?  …a girl? …unsure?  At Kirsty Doyle we have chosen 3 perfect dresses to help dress you for this occasion. For this look, Beth (one of our KD styled up girls) looked conservative but chic, girly but sophisticated and demure but playful. Shooting by the suitcase area on Hope Street, this was a perfect opportunity to capture the summer weather in the UK.

Blue Rica – This baby blue plunge neck dress is complementary for a summertime celebration. Team it with nude heels and a loose wave hair style to hide the plunge.

Pink Esme – Be pretty in pink in this lace paneled fitted dress. With a top knot bun it looks effortlessly chic and shows off the shoulder detailing.

Peach Penelope – Ruffle it up with this pencil dress. A lovely colour for a Christening if you do not wish to go for the obvious blue and pink. Cut below the knee, it balances the expose of the top half of the outfit and the top bun helps elongate your height.

Pastel tone are perfect for this occasion so check the KD store website to our summer collection. Comment and share your favorite dress you think would be suitable and remember balloons are not just for kids.

Leigh came to KD as a bride without a gown, she had tried on every style and silhouette and hadn’t found THE dress. Leigh was a KD ready-to-wear customer and once she heard we started doing bridal she knew she had to have an appointment. Leigh knew the shape of the gown and had even drawn a picture of her dream dress to help the team see exactly what she wanted. We tell all brides to have some inspiration pictures or tear sheets to help us realise the dress they dream of.

Every bride has their first wedding toile made from their exact measurements, this is usually a cotton mock-up of the gown they want. At Leigh’s fitting we knew that she had chosen the perfect silhouette, fitted through the bodice and hip into a fluted mermaid style.

I love getting to know each bride and going on their wedding journey with them, wedding gowns take 8-12 fittings at least and whether you have 8 weeks or 8 months the amount of fittings remain the same but the time in between may be closer. Leigh was such a calm bride and knew exactly what she wanted in her gown. There was to be no lace, embellishments or trims. This gown has a contemporary feel to it as the dress is all about a perfect fit and a soft structure. When having a bespoke gown made everything has to fit like a glove, so Leigh came back with her dress one week before her flight to make sure the desired look was just so. She collected her short veil and organza bow and she was ready for the off!

To say we wait with baited breath for the return of our brides who marry abroad would be an understatement. As we haven’t been lucky enough to dress them on their day we can’t wait to see the snapshots from their dream day. Leigh’s album surpassed all of our dreams with the dramatic backdrop and classic tailoring in the groom’s outfit the album look straight out of a magazine.
