Looking back, editorial model fittings.

Sometimes you strip back the editorial ideas and the dress shines through, this is especially so in this editorial set of pictures from a fitting with our editorial model Carly. Carly was the face of our Bridal Fall 2014 collection and epitomised a modern, fashion conscious bride. These shots from behind the scenes show you how a dress comes to life at a fitting. Nips and tucks on the back train were decided when we could see the dress on our model. This shaping on the back of the gown could not be achieved by flat pattern cutting or sketching in my opinion. I have to see dresses in 3D so I can drape, fold or tuck I guess that is just how my mind works.

NEW for Spring 14.

How do you choose YOUR favourite from the new collection?

This season we have gone for a varied colour palette and chosen to recreate some classic shapes as our KD girls just can’t get enough of the Amelie or Penelope, Sabrina or Fifi. When editing our collection ideas for Spring 2014 we briefly look at the trend forecasts for shape and colour, but we try to lead in our own direction. Keeping the shapes tailored and feminine so pieces can be worn season after season.

Soft ruffles and and structured bows feature and new for Spring is the tailored jumpsuit. The trouser length is key to these jumpsuits being chic yet oh-so wearable. Narrow with an ironed crease and and ankle skimming length offers the illusion of long and lean legs working surprisingly well with barely there sandals with an ankle strap.

So make haste and nip over to our newly updated site and tell us which KD Spring piece is on your wishlist!
