#StudioLoves: The Met Ball 2013

Fashion, Studio Loves

It is the most anticipated Fashion night of the year, and it has the most start studded red carpet event. This years met ball was all about Punk: Chaos to Couture, so which celebrities nailed the punk look and which celebrities went Punk by ignoring the theme all together…

It was these lovely celebrities that really achieved the punk theme, while still looking super classy and super stylish. Well done ladies…

Super Brit, Sienna Miller rocked up in all Burberry outfit. The studded leather jacket and accessories adding the punk vibe to her gorgeous white sheath dress.

Nicole Richie, sporting a Topshop column dress with dark plum lips. She went the one step further and turned her hair white – thats what we call dedication.

Another one flying the flag for the Brits. Model of the moment Cara Delevingne also turned up a stud adorned Burberry outfit and she finished off the punk look with smokey eyes and tousled hair.

Cameron makes a subtle nod towards the punk theme in her cobalt Stella McCartney  cape dress with studded waist belt, and slicked back hair.

The not-so-punk…

These celebrities may not have followed the dress code, but they still looked as amazing as ever.

Solange Knowles turned up in a thigh showing blue printed Kenzo dress, paired with simple strap shoes and a box clutch.

Actress Amanda Seyfried wore a Givenchy Couture dress from SS ’07 collection

She never seems to put a fashion foot wrong, the gorgeous Blake Lively wears a strapless Gucci Première and keeps her hair and make-up simple

Red Carpet Trends…

All-in-white – White gowns and dresses were a popular choice for many stars on Monday night.

Katie Holmes in a Calvin Klein Collection gown.

Emmy Rossum  arrived to the event in a Donna Karen Atelier custom-made dress.

Cut-away dress –  A major trend for the Met Ball this year was cut out dresses, celebrities showed up flashing hints of midriffs and ribs.

Model Miranda Kerr in Michael Kors

Dakota Fanning dressed in a sheer back Rodarte dress.

Great Gatsby actress, Carey Mulligan wore a gorgeous Balenciaga dress, complete with Tiffany jewellery.

Singer Rita Ora and the gorgeous Olivia Wilde, did two trends in one, both opting for white cut away dresses. Olivia wore a custom-made dress by Calvin Klein Collection, while Rita opted for a custom-made Thakoon dress.

Best of British…

The Brits did us proud on Monday night, and here is the studios pick of the best dressed Brits.

Model Lily Cole supported her fellow Brits by wearing a Vivienne Westwood gown.

Power couple Colin and Livia Firth attended the event together. Livia wore a floor length Moschino dress.

The lovely actress Emma Watson turned up to the event in a custom-made Prabal Gurung dress, with cut-away midriff and thigh high split.

Alexa Chung supported British Fashion designer Erdem by wearing black sheer panelled dress.

In a league of her own…

There is no doubt about it that the SATC star, Sarah Jessica Parker loves the Met Ball. Each year she pulls out all the stops, and this year was no different. Her over the top Giles Deacon gown and Phillip Tracey mowhawk was the ultimate Punk look and only her and her altar ego Carrie Bradshaw could pull this look off.

Actress Anne Hathaway wears a lovely Vintage Valentino dress. We are loving the sheer dress but loving the platinum blonde hair even more…
